Engr Dr Arun Dev
Dr Arun Dev, a Naval Architect, Marine and Offshore Engineer, has a B.Sc.Eng (BUET), MSc (Strathclyde University) and PhD (TUDelft). Dr Dev worked in both industry and academia for more than 40 years. He worked in BIWTA, Dhaka, Bangladesh and also in Keppel Group as a General Manager in Singapore. He joined Newcastle University in Singapore in 2008 as its first founding Director and now is its Associate Professor and Director of PG Studies. Dr Arun Dev is a Fellow of SNAME, RINA, IMarEST, EI, IEB and SNAMES. He is currently a Council member of RINA and Vice President for Asia Region. Dr Dev has published more than 100 technical papers, articles, etc. in journals and conference proceedings. Dr Dev received his Lifetime Achievement Award from the Joint Branch of RINA and IMarEST (Singapore) in 2019 and also received a SNAME award for his paper "Various Aspects of Bollard Pull Tests and Analyses of Test Results."
Engr Md Masudur Rahman
Mr. Md Masudur Rahman graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine engineering. After his graduation, he joined Dockyard and Engineering Works Ltd. Narayanganj. He then completed a one-year shipbuilding course in Japan under JICA in 1987. In Singapore, he started working at Jurong Shipyard in 1992 as an engineer. In 1994, he joined ST Engineering Marine as a Ship Repair Manager and retired from there as a manager, ship repair in 2020.
Engr Sukanta Ghosh
Sukanta Ghosh obtained his B. Sc in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering (BUET) in 1998. He worked for around 8 years in Bangladesh for different organizations (Like Chittagong Dry Dock Ltd & Marine House). He came to Singapore in 2007 and since then is employed in Sembcorp Marine (Previously Sembawang Shipyard Ltd). He is currently working as a Senior Project Manager and involves in FPSO/FSO conversion, new building and other Refurbish projects.
Engr Atiqur Rahman
Atiqur Rahman is a Mechanical engineer and currently working in Halliburton Pte Ltd as Principal R&D Engineer. He obtained his M. Eng. degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) on 2004 and B.Sc. Degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) on 2001. Playing Badminton & Cricket, photography and listening to music are a few of his hobbies.
Engr Shah Md Nurul Islam
Mr. Shah Md Nurul Islam obtained his BSc and MSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT-OIC) in 2002 and 2005, respectively, and currently pursuing a Ph.D. at University Technology Malaysia(UTM). After graduation, he worked under the Ministry of Industry, Bangladesh, from 2004 to 2008. He relocated to Singapore in 2008, pursued further professional qualifications, and worked as HSE Consultant and Trainer in different industries. Starting his own business, MIA International (Singapore) Pte Ltd, in 2015, he is currently the CEO & Director of it. He is also Chairman of MIA Engineering Bangladesh and Managing Director of CIAT Engineering Limited Bangladesh. He spends his leisure time playing Badminton & Cricket, reading newspapers, and listening to the news as his main hobbies.
Engr A. H. Ahsanul Kabir
Mr. A.H.Ahsanul Kabir, Graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Water Resources and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1981. After moving to Singapore in 1988, he pursued further professional qualifications, such as Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Engineering from The National University of Singapore (NUS),Graduate in Workplace Safety and Health from BCA Academy, Singapore
He pursued numerous professional courses related to Safety Health and Environment.
He worked as a Project Manager in the oil and gas division, and subsequently in construction industries. He is currently providing advisory service on Workplace Safety and Health and Environment in various institutions accredited by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and Workforce Singapore (WSG). Mr Kabir is an active member of several societies. He was previously holding the position of President of Bangla Language and Literary Society Singapore (BLLS) for two terms and has served in other positions such as management committee member, treasure, assistant secretary, secretary, Vice-President (Admin) and Vice-President (Academic). He was holding the position of Chairman of Overseas Chapters the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh, (OCIEBS)Singapore Chapter for 2 terms 2020-2021and 2021-2022.
He was the member of Advisory committee of Singapore Bangladesh Society (SBS) in recent past 2 terms for 2020-2021 and 2021-2022. Presently he is also a Senior Member of the Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) and Member of the Singapore Institution of Safety Officers (SISO). He is the General Manager of MIA International (Singapore) Pte. Ltd, MIA Engineering Bangladesh Ltd. and CIAT Engineering ltd, Bangladesh
Engr Md Mozammel Hoque
Md Mozammel Hoque completed his honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology in 1989. Upon graduation, he started his career at Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation. Later in 2005, he migrated to Singapore and joined Sembcorp Marine (Jurong Shipyard). In his 15 years tenure at Sembcorp Marine, he held various positions ranging from lead Engineer to project manager in a wide range of shipbuilding projects. As a community engagement activity, he served the Singapore Bangladesh Society (SBS) as a joint secretary in 2007 and OCIEBS as a Management Committee (MC) member for the 2019-2020 tenure.
Engr Md Nur Islam
Md Nur Islam obtained his B. Sc (EEE) in 2003 from CUET. Currently, he is working with Caterpillar under the EPD (Electric power Division).
Engr Dr. Shabbir Ahammad Khan
Dr. Shabbir Ahammad Khan obtained his B Sc in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET), former Bangladesh Institute of Technology, Chittagong (BIT Chittagong). After his graduation, he joined Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation, BCIC. In 1998 he moved to Saitama University, Japan, under Japanese Government Scholarship, Monbusho. Dr. Shabbir received his M Sc Engineering and a Ph.D. degree from Saitama University, Japan, in 2001 & 2004, respectively. At present, Dr. Shabbir is working at Sembcorp Marine, Singapore.
Engr Md Shah Jamal
Mr. Md Shah Jamal obtained his Engineering degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET). At present, he is working in Oil & Gas field job besides running his own business.
Engr Ranajit Kumar Podder
Podder Ranajit Kumar is a Mechanical Engineer and currently working in Sembcorp Marine Integrated Yard as Assistant Project Manager. He born and brought up in Chandpur, Bangladesh. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1999 from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh (KUET). He started his career with Seven Circle Ltd, manufacturer of Seven Ring Cement. In 2007 he came to Singapore prior to that he served Jalalabad Gas, a company of Petro Bangla from 2001 to 2007. He likes to listen music and reading newspaper.
Engr Sk Ahmad Ali
Sk Ahmad Ali achieved his Masters in Systems and Project Management from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2015 and is currently employed Under Sembcrop Marine Industry, Project Management Department. Mr. Ahmad worked as a Mechanical and HVAC Engineer at Mitsumaru Bangladesh Ltd. after getting his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2003 from (CUET). He is a member of the Institute of Engineers, Singapore (IES) and Alumni of NTU.
Engr Forrukh Ahmed
Forrukh Ahmed graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1994 with a B.Sc. in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering then he obtained his M.Sc. in CIVIL (Specialization in Offshore Engineering) from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore in 2010. At present he is working as Manager in the Engineering department of Keppel Shipyard. He has been working in Keppel Offshore & Marine Group (KOM) for more than 18 years. Before joining KOM he was working in Chittagong Dry Dock LTD, Bangladesh.
Engr Md Bassu Mia
Md. Bassu Mia obtained his BSc. in Naval Architect and Marine Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2000. He did further studies and completed his MBA from Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia in 2016. Since his graduation, he has gathered more than 17 years of professional experience by working in the various discipline of the marine field including project management. Currently, he is working as a Project Manager in a renowned company in Singapore, under Sembcorp Marine. He is involved with volunteering works with local RC and GRC. He is a life member of SBS and OCIEBS. Bassu Mia served OCIEBS at various portfolios at more than one tenure like Member, Treasurer, Auditor etc.
